New Station in Cincinnati

That plus the "Miracle" tag tells me it will be just another tired christian format (or maybe an exciting NEW christian format, right?)

This is why WGUC snapped up WVXU when it became apparent that it would be sold, to protect the frequency from falling victim to one of the many fundamentalist vultures circling out there.

I think you are way off the mark there. I think we all will be surprised from what they are saying.

I have worked with Bill Spry on and off for almost a decade. Through Freeradio 1055 to Freeradiofreerock.com and into Freeradio 97.7 to the edge of freeradio, Chritian Hit Radio and Christian hit rock radio, positive hit radio and classx. One thing Bill has always said the format for my stations is in my head. I'll know when I have the sound I want. Michael Buckingham from Radio U was even once interested in programming with us.

That post makes it sound as if it could be just about anything but I'm glad Spry cleared it up a few post back.

Was that about as clear as ..........................................................................mud

My Guess why Clear Channel could Challenge the WMWX Calls is there so close to Mix 94.1's WVMX Calls

And don't don't forget that it is really close to WLWA and WLW as well.

Seriously, they (CC) really have nothing to say about it. The FCC issues call letters, not CC.

Of course, as I understand it, CC is in the process of purchasing the FCC, so that might change ;D

I have talked to Mr Spry this week and I think CC might have more grounds, if any, to challenge the format than the call letters. 88.9 coming to a radio near you soon.... When the antenna company finishes that special directional antenna.

Yeah but Stations usually ask for Certain Call Letters thus the reason Why Jacor at the Time when they bought 550 from Great Amercian but couldnt take the KRC Call Letters and they chose to brand 550 as a WLW Clone thus the reason why WLW and Jacor chose the WLWA Calls

and i Believe in cases of such close call letters between different owners the owners of the similar Calls aka WVMX has the right to challenge ths Issuing of those Calls

I disagree that they care here is why.... 94.1 WVMX is branded as THE MIX 94.1. (Note nothing in tags or liners mention WVMX until the top of the hour.)

WMWX - M - stands for Miami .......W - Whitewater

In my opinion they are miles apart.

Now we know where the CC in FCC comes from

WASHINGTON (AP)--The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) announced today that it has agreed to be acquired by Clear Channel Communications (CCU) of San Antonio, Texas.

In announcing the deal, the FCC Chairman said "This transaction will greatly expedite the demise of the antiquated concept of local ownership of media outlets. Critics of deals such as this need to understand that Clear Channel embodies all that is good and decent in the broadcast industry, and anyone that believes otherwise clearly isn't listening to the news."

In a statement issued today, Clear Channel CEO Lowry Mays said "This acquisition is a perfect strategic fit for Clear Channel. The FCC has been a wonderful business partner for the past several years, and has
carried out our directions with great enthusiasm. We are proud to welcome the FCC into the Clear Channel family of companies."

Although terms of the deal were not immediately available, it is said that the acquisition will include all components, operating units and assets of the FCC, except for its soul, which was sold in a prior
transaction to Satan, Inc. in 1996.

Clear Channel, which owns broadcast facilities, shopping malls, billboard advertising, and concert promotion units all across North America, has been on an acquisition binge for the past several years,
and has recently broadened the scope of its acquisitions to include government entities. In a recent deal, CCU purchased a 50% interest in the U.S. Congress, and is reportedly close to striking a deal to purchase The White House.
