Then again, the fans could look at the next game as a legitimate chance to redeem themselves and get back to their winning ways.

Looking ahead, if the Bills don't start showing the fans something, circle 11/1 as a blackout date in WNY when the Bills host the Texans in their next home game.

I've been waiting for the bottom to drop out for years now, but these diehard fans keep supporting them no matter what! They're doing some type of "code blue" promotion right now, in which they are painting almost everything that sky blue color, and trying to get people (fans, mostly) to wear sky blue leisure suits and the like.
Some of those fans are still "torn," with Peyton Manning coming to town tomorrow night. They liked him when he was UT quarterback, and many tight'uns fans are also UT fans. They were hoping that Bud would have been able to get Peyton back in 1998, so they wouldn't have divided loyalties, but the team didn't have a high enough draft pick that year.

He also retained the rights to the name "Oilers," to prevent another Houston team from naming themselves the Oilers. And he apparently also kept the copyrights on the oil derrick logo, which he is having his team wear this year in selected games in their "retro" uniforms. It's tacky and ugly, but that's Bud Adams for you!

No real threat. If you look at some of the comments, you can tell they're really sweating this game (Especially in the NFC West, which like the AFC West, isn't exactly worth writing home about). So why should they waste their HARD-EARNED $$$ (Especially in THIS economy) on a game when virtually everyone knows who between the two teams is going to win.

Sorry Pat, I'm not buying it. If the Texans were playing the Broncos at Mile High, they'll still sell out. If the Texans were visiting Lambeau or Soldier Field or Candlestick or Gillette Stadium, each venue would still sell out - with ease. Not a good enough excuse. Real fans buy tickets to see their team - not the other guys.
What you're describing is the behavior of the fair weather fan. The kind of fan that eventually results in your team moving elsewhere.....

This is sort of what happened in Memphis in 1997, when the Tennessee Oilers were playing at the Liberty Bowl there. The only game that got any real attention in the bluff city was when the Steelers came to town. Of course, Memphis was only going to have the team for two years at most, but Bud was so humiliated by that show of support for an opposing team that he shortened the deal to just one year, and went ahead and moved his team to Nashville in time for the 1998 season. Bud hadn't done his homework. If he had, he would have known that Memphis was still smarting over being passed over for an NFL expansion team earlier in the '90s, and he had just given them the opportunity to thumb their noses right back at the NFL.

They did that in Wichita. KWCH switched from the Raiders/Giants game to the Lions/Steelers, then quickly to the Bengals/Ravens game.

I think they'll make the sellout; they might need the extension to get it done. The Bengals have been a sure surprise this year, and they were one fluke TD by the Broncos away from being undefeated. They had a great finish Sunday against Baltimore (like Robnoxious mentioned, L.A. was one of the markets that eventually switched from God-awful Raiders-Giants game), certainly inspired for their defensive coordinator who lost his wife last week.
 
I am a little surprised that the Bengals are having issues, given how well they've been doing on the field. Nor is Cincy known as a 'fair weather fan' market. Is the economy doing that badly down there? Hope they can get the sellout in.
 
There a possibility that the Eagles at Raiders game will be blacked out in The Bay Area.
 
The Bucs game has sold out, while the Bengals get a 24-hour extension with about 3,000 seats left (I think every team that has gotten an extension this year has sold out). The Jags and Raiders aren't so lucky this week, though.
 
While it would be more in the realm of possibility that relocation is likely, I think as long as the NFL is profitable, contracting any of the league's franchises is out of the question. They already have their eight-division setup of four teams apiece. I don't think they want to botch that.
