Maybe if you are the only station calling yourself "Oldies" you can define what it means to your listeners rather than assume it means 50's and 60's music to all of them.

Coffeyradio said:K-EARTH is doing well because of years of branding, marketing, contests and the PPM which can track the phantom cume that the diary system didn't. We knew in the 90's when our P25-54 diary cume was just under a million that we had at least 44% more cume which would have put us over 1.2 million cume in the P25-54 demo. By the way K-EARTH is currently at 1.2 million cume 25-54.
. K-EARTH is a .4 and in a 4 way tie billing around 28 million a year or 16 million in cash flow. That's pretty good, not as good as it was in the 1990's when we billed around 45 million a year but every body is down and the Classic Hits formats are also tougher to sell.

Mike, Doesn't spending money = A Highly rated & money making station? What radio station in San Francisco that doesn't spend money and use 100% voice tracked dj's, is very successful and a Top 10 Radio Station in the ratings?mikecroaro said:Madmansam said:I think in order for CC to make "Oldies 103.7" successful, they need to add a few local voices and not rely solely on Voice Tracking. Highly unlikely = requires spending money.

CC could use a Dave Sholin or a John Mack Flanagan in the morning with the rest voicetracked. I think a local legend anchoring mornings would help Oldies 103.7, not a bunch of no names from out of the city or in some cases, out of state. I think that is one of the reasons that CC dropped the Classic Rock format. The other two stations (K-Fox & The Bone) have local personalities that give their stations a bit of identity compared to the no names of 103.7 The Band.
