5:53 a.m. CDT today from San Antonio - new logging: 930 WSFZ "Black Information Network" from Jackson, MS. Was listening on my Digitech AR1780 and Terk loop with local KLUP partially nulled.

Signal was weak and in/out. Heard a spot with Nicole Deal followed by BIN IDs and news with Bri Wood and John Marshal. A few minutes later it was gone.

This was an hour before Jackson's sunrise. So not sure if it was on 3.7 kW day power or 60 watts night power.
@jim-satx I’m hearing 930-WSFZ clearly here in DFW at 9:20pm. Most certainly on day power.

I'm hearing something on 950 AM.

It sounds like a vintage radio program (I heard an old Colgate shaving cream commercial).

It seems to be coming from someplace up north or down south.

EDIT: It could be KAHI out of Auburn, CA. That seems most plausible.

From Albuquerque New Mexico.
Not sure if it is atmospheric conditions tonight, but 1200 WOAI from San Antonio is booming in with no static at all.
Getting something on 740am, unable to ID with a lot of background noise. English language talk such that I can pick out. Doubt if it is KTRH Houston here, but maybe it could be. Will try at top of the hour.

And another new one. 1580am. Spanish CHR or at least pop music. Very off and on as far as reception goes.
First time picking up on 1580 at my current location.
And as I was writing this, now it is gone.

KFCS Colorado Springs is closest one in Spanish. 140 watts at night and very possible. Also in Spanish nearby are KIRT in Mision, TX and KWLO in Springville, UT (both religions).

It could be KCBS out of SF? (KCBS broadcasts at 50kw at night, so it might be possible to hear it from Albuquerque, though probably not well).

KRMG would be another possibility on 740.

Regarding Spanish on 1580, KFCS is a good possibility. I've heard them several times here in Houston.

FYI 1630 KCJJ in Iowa City has been off air since around 5 PM yesterday, due to the strong storms bringing down power lines near the station. There's no estimate on when they'll be back on air:

It’s not just you. KRMG seems to sneak in under CFZM at about 3 a.m. in the Chicago area and hangs around thereafter, sometimes strongly, sometimes barely at all.

DFW, Texas -- Sangean ATS-909X portable

720 Radio Católica Nicaragua, Managua 3/30/2023 2210 Spanish mass // stream. Weak in WGN null.
780 WIIN MS, Ridgeland 4/4/2023 0638 Urban morning show, announcer banter // stream. Good signal.
1280 KPRV OK, Poteau 3/29/2023 2005 Oklahoma PSA's, Carpenters, Charlie Rich, Beatles. Fair to good in WODT null.
1410 KTCS AR, Ft. Smith 3/28/2023 2125 Country music u/KGSO, matched web stream.

I was hearing a weak signal with oldies on 1220 on top of the mess for about 20 minutes this morning before 5am CDT. Then, on the hour, the signal got noticeably stronger. As I suspected, it was CFAJ from St. Catherines, Ontario. (Niagra Falls) powering up. Still rather weak, but strong enough to stay on top. No trace of WKNR. I've heard CFAJ at my location before, but not since about a year and a half ago for the first time. 10kw fulltime aimed northwest with a tighter pattern at night.

For what it's worth, CFAJ was dominating the frequency last night between 10 pm - midnight when I was listening.

When I first heard them here about a yeaar and a half ago (or whenever), they dominated 1220 for a week or two, IIRC, I wouldn't be surprised if maintaining their pattern can be problematic. They're pretty close to the 50kw 1220 in Cleveland. Especially for a 10kw facility. It;s only about a four hour drive from Cleveland to St,Catherines, And that's via a a land route around Lake Erie!
