Solid tropo duct this morning between 9am and 12pm MDT, with stations from Missouri, Nebraska, and Kansas coming into my post in Cheyenne, WY. I used my Eton EE for these catches, with just the internal antenna stretched out. There were so many stations that I still have to go back and identify some, but here is a short list:
103.7 KJEL Lebanon, MO (683.1 miles) was weak, but in the clear, with branding (see video). About 10am MDT.
106.9 KTPK Topeka, KS (493 mi) strong at first, but weakened, confirmed by local advertisement.
102.5 KBLS North Fort Riley, KS (450 mi) moderate strength, overtook local station. Confirmed by branding "Sunny 102.5"
102.9 KHUT Hutchinson, KS (421.7 mi), really good strength, confirmed via legal ID at the bottom of the hour, which I thought was unusual, but I'll take it!
92.7 KZUH Minneapolis, KS (408 mi), confirmed as part of the KJIL family, via branding ID.
106.9 again. KBGL Larned, KS (350 mi), confirmed by RDS branding "Hits 106.9".
107.7 KCGR Goodland, KS (217 miles), great strength, confirmed by RDS saying "KCGR".
Before today, my farthest Tropo catch was on June 9th, 2021: 98.3 KXDJ Spearman, TX (408.3 mi).
Today's event just blew out my old personal best by nearly 300 miles! Here's that KJEL that was 683 miles away:
