It does not prove anything! The manufacturer says you don't, and me and several other Receptor users have proven that you don't!

Show me where in that article it says "you must use a 7-foot dipole for this radio to work". It doesn't.

I don't know about the Receptor, but DRE reciever worked without an antenna at the MAB (I pulled it off to see what would happen).

WFMK transmitter is on the far SE side of Lansing. The test location was in downtown (center) Lansing, on the convention floor behind concrete walls. About 7 miles with no antenna, inside bldg, not bad..
