Valid point. I have been called "unamerican" because I don't like football... yet, like music and movies, all forms of entertainment are based on personal taste which should be honored and respected.

I'll watch a game here and there if I don't have something else to do or something I'd rather watch more. Other than a few big names, I couldn't tell you most of the players on the home team, and virtually none on others. I don't give a darn about fantasy football, betting or any of that. I have a couple of ball caps, but refuse to spend money on jerseys and other expensive fan gear. All of which gets me lots of side-eye and incredulous looks. How can a male in a football crazed town be mostly ambivalent? I'll watch the Super Bowl mostly out of habit, but pay much closer attention to the commercials. Snack and potty breaks during the game itself. And if I get bored enough after an hour or so, I'll go read the newspaper, or just go to bed.

Even my wife gets the "look" when she says she doesn't have something for spirit days at work. We're oddballs, as if it's an alien concept to not set aside every Sunday afternoon...and night, and Monday night, and Thursday night, and the occasional Sunday morning, and Saturday....to follow every moment of football season. Christmas day, half of the family was glued to the TV for the NFL. I had zero interest in that on a day I'd rather spend talking and enjoying a screen-free day. But apparently football trumps all, including family gatherings. .

Am I then a "halfamerican" because I like college and not professional football (no TS at college games!)? Love playing football (when a bit younger) and like playing basketball but can't stand to watch it - same with "futball" and tennis. Hockey is my biggie but I grew up in the desert so never saw a sheet of ice that big until in my 20's. Loved to ride, and race, all manner of two wheelers and ATV's but get bored quickly watching.

It seems likely that she'll arrive in time for the action, even though she couldn't land directly in NFL title game's host city.
The trip from Japan to California took 12 hours as she crossed the international date line and nine different time zones to watch the Kansas City Chiefs and her boyfriend, All-Pro tight end Travis Kelce, face the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. Luckily, Vegas is 17 hours behind Japan.
Swift's tight travel window was presented by her ongoing Eras Tour and its international touring schedule. As soon as she completed her fourth consecutive show in Japan's Tokyo Dome on Saturday night, she rushed to a private jet at Haneda airport, according to the Associated Press.

Taylor Swift fans worked diligently to track her private flight all the way from Japan on Saturday, hoping the pop star makes it to Allegiant Stadium to watch boyfriend Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVIII. Gracie Hunt, the daughter of Chiefs chairman Clark Hunt, has since confirmed Swift will attend the big game -- and is celebrating the news.
"She's coming!" Hunt told People magazine at Saturday's Fanatics Super Bowl Party. "She's coming! We're excited."
There had been rampant speculation about the feasibility of Swift's travel, considering the Grammy-winning singer only wrapped a four-day stretch of concerts in Japan on Saturday. But she hurried to catch a private flight out of Tokyo, per CBS News, and benefited from a 17-hour time difference between Tokyo and America.

Hunt added that a "Chiefs Kingdom afterparty" has been planned for Sunday night, once the Chiefs' matchup with the San Francisco 49ers is complete, but did not confirm whether Swift and/or Kelce will be in attendance.
