Oedi and Bret Milano were on with Emily Rooney. She called him "Ee-dipus" when introducing him. Twit. The show is available on demand and will be on their site tomorrow.
And they could steel a liner I heard in Dayton refering to herritage WTUE 104.7, "The station that made the classics... classic"wcozBoston said:Why didn't CBS move their classic rock format to WBCN, with their heritage? 100.7 could have become WBMX and 98.5 could be WBZ-FM?
I always remember hearing classics liners like "This is John Lennon and you are listening to WBCN, the Rock of Boston" or something like that. Bring those all back on a a new classic rock station, WBCN.
hmmm... If you read the trades they all say it will be called MIX104Gadon said:Will 104.1 still be "Mix" or will 104.1 be relaunched using CBS's "Fresh" handle ? So many questions.. It will be interesting how this all shakes out..

That same page now says "WBCN's rock music format will continue via their website, WBCN.com, as well as on 98.5 HD-2."
Sounds OK to me.
The average listener WBCN and other rock stations were going for now have iPods, MP3 players built into their cars, and generally don't care about hearing the latest music. With all your favorite CDs ripped to your PC, what do you need WBCN for?
Take Smells Like Teen Spirit and Rooster and the rest of that out, and really, what did BCN play?
WBZ-FM is going to be delivering new exclusive content that you can't get on your MP3 player. That's why this is going to work.
