WJZX FM 106.9 FM Flipped

Pay close attention to that NOW Link. Anita Baker is one of the artists in the banner. Perhaps that's from the old Smooth Jazz but still something to wonder? Also... why is Star 102.5 their Facebook page on that link? Sister station, I know but just makes you wonder... I agree with Brian, this is WAY out of hand. It took Mix 1079/Saga 24-48 hours to launch the Hot AC when Mix 971 flipped. It's taking 1069 DAYS to figure this out. It better be the best damn thing to hit the area. Also, I did take a look at Kiss 103.7 - VERY well programmed to the market. Hard to compete with.

Also agree with you! However, I think I agree with them not launching it. When you're trying to launch a new station (especially on a weak signal), you don't wanna compete with another station calling themselves Now. I would've just kept the same library, got your voiceguy in and renamed the damn thing. Kiss 103.7 looks pretty heavy-rhythmic from what I've noticed... 1069 needs to pick one. CHR, Rhythmic, Adult, Rhythmic AC? Who knows if it'll even be anything CHR-oriented?

LOL!!! What losers over there. Get a clue Saga. How about admit that you lost and go back to smooth jazz until you figure something out.

Or do something innovative and bring back a Hot 102 type 80s/90s gold format. You would kick the socks off your competition guaranteed and create some buzz not experienced in about 10 years.

I give them until Friday. If they don't have a station by Friday, they are not gonna live this one down. It's not gonna be NOW... and btw, I do think 1069 would have done a better job. 97.3 Radio Now looks pretty cookie-cutter to me, very similar to Premium Choice CHR. Maybe this is just their launch playlist, but if they wanna make any noise in the market, they better come with something better than this. Look for Elvis Duran to hit mornings and Seacrest to hit middays.
 
You really think they will fight Entercom to get the rights for Seacrest? He is on MYX weekdays and Kiss weekends (AT40).
 
I'm not familiar with the area, I live in Ohio but this whole "stunt" has caught my attention. Nah, if Seacrest is already on a local station, they won't grab him. It'll probably be voicetracked.

Sundays from 10pm -Midnight is Fox All Access with Chris Leary


other than that, they're all live and local...even from midnight to 6am

Wow... I wish Clear Channel can learn from Entercom! LIVE AND LOCAL! I bet even CBS Radio knows this.
 
Seriously, Saga doesn't even know how to flip a station. Stop the stunting already, get on with the new format! This new format better be the best, if it ends up being sports, rock or any other lame format then this is stupid! If I were Saga, I would've just at least stunt for 2 hours after dumping the old format then just get on with the new station. Of course, thats what they get for waiting in the last minute.

Agree! I think everyone's getting tired of hearing the Beatles.
 
Breaking!!!

Rumors are they have had several domains that relate to country with a Monikor that follows the NBA team and Deer in Wisconsin. I can't give the source cause it is a competing site with this but there is much speculation.

If this is true:

1) Shame on them taking forever to come up with this format!!
2) This WAS NOT the 1st choice by far. They had "Now" Top 40 format in the works and CC beat them to the punch. Admit your bluff was called and move on.
3) They are gonna get killed by FM 106. Unless they can somehow confuse listeners when they accidentally turn the dial too far down. Looks like suicide to me IF this ends up happening. Can this market really handle 3 country stations? (WOKY being the additional one)

Thoughts?
 
A second FM Country station on a full strength signal could make things interesting. But on this signal WMIL should have little to worry about (that is if country is the actual format and not part of never ending stunting).

I think they could get listeners to find them being the next scan down the dial. Remember, there's no more confusion with PPM so it doesn't matter. We're not playing recall anymore.
