WKSW move to Enon approved

The FCC approved WKSW (Kiss Country)'s move from 101.7 in Urbana to 101.5 in Enon (with tower in Huber Heights), dismissing a couple of informal objections in the process. The feds decided that Enon was indeed it's own separate community deserving of its very own radio station.

So when does Mainline move it and what's the format going to be? It would seem that almost any contemporary music format would have Mainline slitting it's own throat by snatching numbers from Fly. Will it stay country and actually make a run at K99.1? Maybe stay the same and still target Springfield?

This allows for a lot to things happen.

First and foremost, WNKO in Heath moves to New Albany, giving it their own radio station at 101.5. The signal will cover a majority of Franklin county and still put tremendous coverage over Licking and Delaware. Personally, I would love to see Ingleside pick it up to simulcast their Alternative/AAA format on 101.1 and 101.5. But im sure the stick will be too costly for that.

WNKO 101.7 in Heath has a CP to move it's tower closer to Columbus but it's CP is contingent
upon WKSW building out it's new tower site in Dayton before it can be licensed. Dose anyone know the status of the new Dayton tower site for WKSW? Have they started building it yet?
The WKSW CP expires on 05/16/2011.
WNKO has already started building it's new Columbus move-in tower site and would ready to
go on the air soon.

Here is the WNKO CP authorization from the FCC:

Program tests for WNKO (Facility ID No. 57936) will not commence on
channel 269B1 with the facilities specified herein until program tests
for WKSW (Facility ID No. 10113) commence on channel 268A[/b] with the
facilities specified in BMPH-20090513ADN and a license will not be
granted for WNKO on channel 269B1 with the facilities specified herein
until a license is granted for WKSW on channel 268A with the facilities
specified in BMPH-20090513ADN.

The station says they will move to the Dayton tower this year. Their CP runs out in May so maybe in the next few months. Will they change formats
when they move to Dayton?

I queried the FCC database for wksw and the urbana information is NOT there anymore. So, maybe the moved is going to be soon!
Sad to see if it, if that is the case.

Mainline has been a bigger tease with this than Sharon Stone in "pick your movie". Word from a well placed source in the hallways there now says the station is very likely to stay country. Their billing is great the way it is now and they figure they won't lose much of their Champaign County revenue with the move. Plus they'll still cover Springfield/Clark County like a blanket and that's where probably 75% of their money comes from. And they think they can steal a few bucks out of Dayton/Montgomery County. They may play a little more of the older or classic country stuff that K99 won't touch. No, they won't topple K99 but they believe they can make more money with the move, and that's what it's all about. (Please do NOT start singing the Hokey Pokey here!!)

Not certain if this is weather related....but 101.7 is off the air as of 4pm today (not certain how long they have been off). 101.5 is empty too.

Most likely this is weather related. It is hailing in my current location.

Click 101.5...it is their online stream on www.radiotime.com. Alternative? Why?

Very interesting........they just said "Welcome to Dayton's newest radio station....the new Click 101.5"

To add to the mystery...101.7 back on....as "Kiss Country" lol
I'm having trouble with the stream. Are they playing Current or Classic Alternative or a mix of both? I've said for awhile now that WXEG needed attacked...I used to be a diehard 'XEG fan until they started up that Active/Alternative hybrid garbage. Be Alternative or Active, not a mismash of both. We'll see what happens whenever the hell Main Line fires up that Enon signal.

Greenville is close to the Indiana and Ohio line... Checked the map.

Here the link to the new station on 101.5:

http://radiotime.com/station/s_30409/Kiss_Country_1017_1015.aspx

Dose this Alternative format have anything to do with WKSW moving over to 101.5?
The stream says they are a new radio station on 101.5.

They just announced "Modern Hit Music" on this stream. and "101.5, Click FM Dayton's Newest radio station"...

Could "Click 101.5" be some kind of Smokescreen? Maybe not
but there is at least one other radio station with the on-air moniker of "Click FM".

Via Wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KLCK-FM

KLCK-FM (98.9 FM), known by the on-air moniker Click 98.9 , is a hot adult contemporary (with an alternative rock lean) radio station based in Seattle, Washington. The Sandusky outlet broadcasts at 98.9 MHz with an effective radiated power of 63.9 kW. Its transmitter is located in Issaquah, Washington.

The 101.7 tower is not close to Greenville. It is a stones throw from the Clark/Champaign county line.

Smokes screen with click 101.5?? Who knows? We will know when mainline wants us to. That is the nature of the beast. Smoke screen and trickery to throw off the competition. But I like the music, even though I wish they don't move. But money is money and if the owners see a profitable opportunity, why not??

Well it may be a smokescreen....they also mentioned "on the web at click1015.com" and "visit us on Twitter and Facebook at click1015" - that at this time do not exist. The format sounded like Modern AC/Adult CHR. Honestly I would like the station...if this is indeed what is placed on 101.5. The imaging was nice....so someone went to a lot of work if this is just a smokescreen.

Now the stream seems to be down....unless I am having computer issues.

I do believe the stream is down. But what about this : 101.7 was dark most of the day today. Weather, power outage, equipment malfunction, who knows?? Maybe today was the roll out day and they could not get 101.5 working?? And they forgot to take down the on line stream?? So could the cat be out of the bag? Or could it be a smoke screen?? If you are format flipping or changing frequencies, you are spending a lot of money, so what is a little more with a good sounding smoke screen?? Since their web site and facebook is not up, I tend to say smokescreen!

Well the Twitter "Click 101-5" points to a Seattle station "playing modern hit music".

http://twitter.com/#!/click1015

I also noted a reference in the feed (when it was working) about how "Click" plays more music than "Kiss"...um we have no "Kiss" if "Kiss Country" goes away.

Kiss country is now back on the streaming feed that did have click 1015 on it. The feed has static, like it is off the air.
I will say this is interesting to see every ones opinion on this.
Listen to 101.5 and 101.7 tomorrow. If there is a switch I think it will be sooner than later. It could be they are testing things out. So listen up.... I believe sooner rather than later!
