Well this is different. I checked it out here in Illinois and a religious station is battling with WCCO. However, the webstream from KUYO didn't match. What I heard was WTRU from North Carolina. They must be on day pattern because their hitting WCCO pretty hard.Anyone still up in the Midwest or West Coast? Try 830 right now! KUYO Evansville WY left their day or critical hours power on and Worship music is on top of the channel as I speak. Either 9200 watts or 25,000 watts, one of those outputs. Go get 'em!
Right now (12:41 a.m. CT) in the Chicago area, WCCO 830 is being battled and occasionally wiped out by WYRU Kernersville, N.C., presumably on day pattern. Maybe 10 kW night power, maybe its full 50. A tip on the DX World board that KUYO 830 Evansville, Wyo., was misbehaving led me to listen for it, but WYRU was there instead, matched to local SDRs. So I ask WYRU, why are you audible here tonight? New AM No. 518 for me.
Something did seem odd about the 830 frequency last night, with my radio picking it up in a north-south direction as opposed to west-east. Probably was KUYO! I was just too tired to notice. On the bright side, 1500 KSTP was really strong and clear last night.Anyone still up in the Midwest or West Coast? Try 830 right now! I was hearing sport talk, so KLAA out of Greater Los AngelesI'm hearing something faint under KNCO, might be KUYO in Carmichael, CA
Congrats on the Catch of WZNKSurprisingly a new catch for me just few minutes ago on 680. WNZK Dearborn Heights, Michigan with Arabic language programming. Matched to web stream. This one has eluded me all these years. Now if I could hear them on their daytime frequency of 690 kHz.
The voice you often heard on WNZK for many announcements was Jerry Tertzakian. He was also the voice often heard on WNWI 1080. Once I heard what I assume was an Armenian language program, on WNWI near Gaylord, MI, and couldn't understand a word he said, but it was clearly Jerry Tertzakian. It looks like he may have passed away, but his announcements may still be used in some instances.Surprisingly a new catch for me just few minutes ago on 680. I've only gotten them on 690. One day I was right by the lake near sunset and I heard it before it went off for the day. I've gotten 4 stations on 680 but never WNZK.Surprisingly a new catch for me just few minutes ago on 680. WNZK Dearborn Heights, Michigan with Arabic language programming. Matched to web stream. I believe WNZK and WNWI are co-owned. Not quite 100% sure of that, however. The voice you often heard on WNZK for many announcements was Jerry Tertzakian.
